Gemalto leverages Combain’s cloud-based geolocation service in their M2M modules
Lund, Sweden, 9 November 2016 – Combain Mobile AB, a world leading geolocation provider for connected devices, is excited to announce a partnership with Gemalto, the world leader in digital security. Gemalto provides connectivity modules to companies building Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. Location information is absolutely key for many IoT use-cases like Security, Retail and Logistics. In some use-cases, it is not possible to rely on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) like GPS or GLONASS since they have limited or no coverage in shielded environments, such as convention centers, underground parking garages and warehouses. To answer these specific use cases, the location information can be obtained by triangulation of cell-towers. To make it easy for customers using their M2M modules, Gemalto has now integrated Combain’s geolocation service into a variety of Cinterion® M2M modules.
